Current Requests (8/14/24)

  • Praise the Lord for all He accomplished through our team this past year of moving into the Uruwa valley!

  • Praise for safe travels and that we were able to come back a bit earlier than anticipated so Kelsey and the baby could get healthier.

  • Pray for our teammates in the bush who are doing the hard work of learning a new language and culture. Pray for continued team unity and the Lord’s strength and guidance in this season of learning.

  • Pray for our kids’ adjustments to the states, constant traveling, transitions, and homeschooling. Lots and lots of new things and it can get overwhelming for TCKs (third culture kids). Pray we would steward their hearts well as we look to the Lord in the midst of all the changes

  • Pray for the many opportunities we have coming up to share about what the Lord is doing through our family and team in PNG. Pray for the Lord to be glorified and the greater Church to be encouraged!

  • Pray for rest in the midst of all the travels, especially for Kelsey and baby.

  • Pray for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Other ways to pray for our Family

  • Pray for our kids and for our transitions

That they would believe in Jesus and count it as a joy to be a part of this ministry.

The life of a Missionary Kid is often on the move. Pray that their hearts wouldn’t be hardened by constant transition and that we would care for them with grace and understanding.

  • Pray for our spiritual life

For each of our walks with the Lord and that we would trust God as a family through this ministry.

Pray for our Ministry

  • Pray that the Lord would continue to sustain us spiritually and physically so we can serve Him wherever He has us. Pray we would look ultimately to Him for guidance.

  • Pray for our time adjusting to the national language and culture. Pray we would continue to grow in our understanding of the trade language and culture and that God would guide us to find the right coworkers and tribe.

  • Pray for the logistics of moving into the tribe, from team formation, survey trips, building our houses, and for our families to transition well into each new phase. Pray also that God would be preparing the hearts of the people we seek to serve among.

Pray for the people of Papua New Guinea

Because of the diversity of language and culture, there are many people groups that have not yet heard the Gospel. Here are some specific ways to pray for them.

  • Pray they would reach out

Many locations have witnessed the transformation the Gospel brings the community and want to hear! Pray that they will continue to write letters asking for missionaries and that there would be open invitations from the community leaders.

  • Pray for those who have been hardened

Some locations have had missionaries come in to present the Gospel, only to leave for various reasons—some out of their control. This has hurt these communities and some have become hardened to the Gospel because of this. Pray that these communities will stay open to the Gospel.

  • Pray for the established churches in PNG

Ethnos360 has established many churches in many different people groups in PNG. Many are thriving and sending missionaries to other people groups! Others are struggling with various issues. Pray that they would cling to God’s Word and that they would be able to apply Scripture to their changing contexts.

  • Pray for discerning hearts among the people

Papua New Guinea has many different cults. Pray for the many different churches in PNG as they discern between truth and lies. Pray for groups that have not yet heard the Gospel, that they wouldn’t be swept into lies.

Ways to Pray for World Missions

  • Pray for the national churches

Whether underground or free, all countries have a body of believers that represent Christ. Pray for the national churches of each country, that they would be unified and cling to truth, that they would send men and women to reach their brothers and sisters within their country.

  • Pray for mobilizers

A major reason that people do not go into missions is they do not realize the need, especially within their own communities. Mobilization is the ministry of informing others about the need for missions that they might go. Pray for more laborers! Pray that national churches would understand the need in their communities and regions.

  • Pray for Bible translators

There are nearly 2000 people groups that do not have a verse of Scripture translated into their language. Pray for ongoing translation projects and those who are faithfully translating Scripture into these languages. Pray for the national translators and the many people who assist in the translation process. Pray for the funds to complete Bible translation projects. Pray for those in the process of learning language and culture.

  • Pray for cross-cultural workers

Pray for the cross-cultural workers or missionaries that leave their home countries to go to the far to reach places. Pray that they would be encouraged through God’s Word, pray that they would find ways to continue partnering with the national church, pray for their families that sent them, and pray for their physical and mental health.

  • Pray for the governments

The governments whose borders contain the most unreached people groups can help or hinder the spread of the Gospel. Pray for the relationships between the government and the national churches. Pray for the visas and paper work needed for cross-cultural workers.

  • Pray for the unreached

Pray for those who have not yet heard the Gospel, or who have had limited exposure to it. Pray that there would be people who go to reach them, pray that their hearts would be open. Pray that the Gospel would make an impact in their communities and that a church built upon God’s Word would be established.

  • Pray for justice

A major hindering factor in the spread of the Gospel is the presence of injustice and corruption. Factors like this can hinder the ability of the national church and cross-cultural workers to reach the unreached. Pray for the refugees that have been displaced and the countries that now shelter them. Pray for the persecuted: both believers and unbelievers.
