Fall Update 2018

Hey there!

We are hard at work preparing for this sweet baby to come (any day now!) and trying to get ahead on classes here at the Missionary Training Center. We are loving the classes thus far and have already made so many awesome friendships. The past month or so here have truly been a blessing from the Lord.

We really struggled with being engaged in classes and relationships last semester at the Bible Institute while Kelsey was so sick, but we have seen the Lord provide in those areas in ABUNDANCE just being here since August. We have amazing neighbors who we get to spend a lot of time with and our incredible mentors and training team (our “community group” for the next two years) have been a huge tool of encouragement and growth.

We are already looking forward to next semester with our training team when we will move out to the woods and live as simply as possible for almost two weeks. We have a very awesome and diverse team. Please pray for team unity as we continue to learn, live, and grow together these next two years! Especially while preparing for “Simple Living” next semester. (We will expound more on that class later!)

Also, we have several Field Representatives coming to share with us over the next 3 days during a time called the “MTC Field Fair”. We are so excited to hear about the different needs that each country/field has. We will also be having the PNG field director over for dinner so that we can try and get a better understanding of what life may look like for us once we go overseas. We would really like to better understand how to manage family life and ministry in this context. Could you pray that the Lord would guide our conversations?

Lastly, we will be leading worship to kick off the Field Fair. Please pray Kelsey doesn’t go into labor while she sings!  (Her big fear!) Hopefully we will be sending out some pictures of our new little one in the near future! We can’t wait to share him with you all!

Nathan commissioned another student here to make me this delicious cookie cake for my 24th birthday back in September. It was delicious! I loved the little plants on top!

Part of my (Kelsey's) "Work Detail" (aka campus job) is to maintain it, clean it, and organize it. I just recently finished going through all these bins and putting out the Fall clothes/items. Lots of work for this big ole pregnant girl!

We would love it if you prayed for their ministries training and equipping missionaries here at the Missionary Training Center (Cassels) and in Nigeria (Wades)!

A quote on the significance of having the Bible translated into a people group's heart language and not just reading it in the national or trade language. This is what we hope to go and be a part of!
